Front Frame Section (TAC-230X/D-S) Set

I have a 2005 Dbl-cab Tacoma. The frame rusted badly near the engine cross member. I qualified for Toyota’s recall but never received notice & was later told I was too late. I ended up buying the first frame kit made available for this generation Tacoma and had it installed by Auto Collision Specialists (Dan) in Reisterstown Maryland. He did a fabulous job, very pleased and I recommend this kit to others in need. However, you have to be warned that after this repair, your frame will be super stiff and will feel like there’s no suspension when traveling at highway speeds and hitting a bump. I never realized the role that a frame flexing plays on the suspension of a vehicle. The good news in my case is that the frame gradually loosened up and began flexing nicely again. After 6 months of driving, it feels pretty good and after one year, it feels totally normal and my visual inspection shows no signs of frame trouble. So, I’m very pleased. Dennis at Saf-T-cap was great to work with and Dan the installer’s attention to detail was excellent. The frame kit is very well made with good quality metal. Be sure to find an installer you trust. Saf-T-cap has recommended installers and if you’re near Baltimore, I couldn’t recommend my installer enough. Nick
